Hala Mirowska.

Built between 1899 and 1901, this is a beautiful building which, despite some ugly renovations at the front, still retains a lot of its former charm and turn-of-the-century European ambience. It is one of the few survivors of the devastation of World War II, although a plaque erected near the main entrance commemorates 510 less fortunate Poles who were shot inside its walls in August 1944. It is said that you can still see some of the bullet marks, grim reminders of the city's tragic past.
